Humboldt Park was buzzing on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026. There is something special about seeing nearly 200 people gather on a cold February morning to walk for a city where everyone has a place to call home. As a nonprofit partner for the Chicago Winter Walk, we were moved by the high energy and the deep sense of community that filled the air.

A Great Turnout and Joyful Noise
We had an incredible turnout in Chicago. The Humboldt Park Orchestra led the way, and honestly, they made it hard not to dance through the two-mile loop. It was a walk, but also a celebration of showing up for one another. Even some of our favorite four-legged ISP companions, like Fiadh and Nico, were there to help lead the pack!
Our ISP team brought a vibrant spirit to the route. We were especially energized by the 50 students from Christ the King Jesuit College Prep who walked with us. We were also grateful to be joined by several of our dedicated team members who also serve as spiritual directors at Bellarmine Jesuit Retreat House.

It was also an honor to walk alongside city leaders like 26th Ward Alderman Jessie Fuentes and Chicago’s Chief Homelessness Officer Sendy Soto, who stood in solidarity with our unhoused neighbors.
Rooted in Sacred Story: Reggie’s Witness
A highlight of the morning was hearing from Reggie, an ISP alum and Ambassador of Hope. Reggie spoke to the crowd about the “choice” that recovery requires—his own choice to seek help, and the community’s choice to be there when he did.
Reggie shared that his connection to a “higher power” is what keeps him grounded as he moves forward in stability. His story reminds us that while housing and healthcare are the essential foundations, it is spiritual companionship and belonging that help those other supports truly stick.

We Reached Our Goal! 🎉
We have some incredible news to share: Together, we reached our $12,000 fundraising goal!
We are so deeply grateful to everyone who walked, donated, and shared our mission. While we’ve hit our target, the donation page remains open until March 31. Any additional funds raised will go directly toward deepening our spiritual companionship programs and widening our circle of hope even further.
Boston, We’re Looking Forward to March 22!
To our partners and friends in Boston: this is a glimpse of what you’re signing up for. We had a great turnout here in Chicago, and we can’t wait to see that same energy take over your city on March 22.
It’s about more than just the miles; it’s about proving that no one has to walk the path of recovery alone. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
