Thank you.

To every person who tuned in, donated, shared a story, or held the ISP community in your heart—Company of Grace 2025 was a moving reflection of what’s possible when we walk together in hope.

Held virtually, this year’s gathering invited us deeper into the theme “Let the Door Swing Open.” What unfolded was an evening of sacred storytelling, collective reflection, and renewed commitment to building a community where healing and belonging are possible for all of us.

What We Heard: Connection is the Path

In a powerful conversation, author Johann Hari and Eric Clayton explored what lies beneath addiction, isolation, and disconnection. Johann offered this: “The opposite of addiction is connection.”

He spoke of the soul-level needs we all share—the need to be seen, to belong, to live with purpose. And he reminded us that healing doesn’t come through punishment or shame—it comes through love, relationship, and understanding. In many ways, his words described what ISP seeks to offer: a spiritual community that affirms every person’s dignity and invites each of us into mutual transformation.

Honoring Jerome Thomas: A Story of Courage and Kinship

This year, we were honored to present the Company of Grace Award to Jerome Thomas—an ISP alum, retreat leader, and beloved member of the Washington, D.C. community.

Jerome shared his journey with honesty and grace—from returning home after prison to discovering ISP, where he found something he hadn’t felt in a long time: welcome. “It was like meeting an old friend,” he said. “I was received with love.”

Since that first retreat, Jerome has become a companion and leader for others. His words, drawn from Psalm 139—“Wherever I was in my travels, God was there”—captured the spirit of the evening and the movement we are building together.

Help Us Open More Doors

Company of Grace is a mirror of what happens every day in the ISP network. Across 20 cities, people are gathering to reflect, to pray, to listen, and to share their lives. We walk together as peers, as companions, and as people committed to deep recovery—not just from addiction or homelessness, but from anything that separates us from God, ourselves, or one another. Company of Grace showed us that this kind of community is not only possible—it’s already unfolding.

We’re making strong progress toward our $100,000 fundraising goal—and right now, your gift will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $20,000 thanks to an an anonymous friend of ISP.

Whether you’ve been part of this journey for years or just joined us, your support strengthens the community we’re building together. A community where every story matters, where recovery is communal, and where hope keeps the door open.
